London Mayor Sadiq Khan has approved plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street.

• The decision follows a Transport for London consultation in which most of the more than 2,700 respondents supported the proposal.
• The plan will restrict all motor vehicles between Great Portland Street and Orchard Street.
• Trials of pedestrianisation have already taken place.
• During the trial, 83% of Oxford Street stores said they would consider taking part in similar events again.
